Equipment Effects

Certain items provide additional effects when equipped. They include:

  • Increasing elemental attack (weapons and rings) or defense (armor, amulets, bracelets).
  • Illumination — Illuminates area. Same effect as Bottle of Light.
  • Darkness — Reduces visibility similarly to a status ailment. Likewise illuminating items like torch will have no effect.
  • Magic Seal — Magic cannot be used as long as the item is equipped. Spirit Book must be used to make magic available again.
  • HP/MP Recovery — HP/MP will recover passively up to half of maximum value.
  • Status Recovery — Status ailments will recover faster. Does not affect curse.
  • HP/MP Drain — Regain some HP/MP when damaging an enemy.
  • Critical — Increases chance of an attack to deal double damage.

Status Ailments

  • Posion drains HP with time. Stackable, will increase the amount if HP drained per tick and change color of the icon from white to yellow to red.
  • Paralysis makes character unable to move, use physical attacks and shields. Stackable, when turned red will prevent using magic, moving camera, and opening menu.
  • Dark limits visibility. Light producing items like Torch have no effect while ailment is active.
  • Weight decreases movement and attack speed.
  • Curse drains HP and MP with time. HP drain is slower than when poisoned.
